MY PHOTOGRAPHY JOURNEY
I was born in a small town in Poland in 1983.
In 2006, I moved to UK. I settled down, got married and started a family.
My photography journey started by coincidence.
In the summer of 2014, we travelled to Poland to baptise our two children. It was a very special celebration, and I wanted to create a good quality photos. As my phone wasn't good enough, we decided to buy our first camera. It was a cheap Nikon bridge camera. At that time, I had no photography background or knowledge, but this basic camera completely changed my life.
During that holiday, I photographed my children like never before. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to pursue photography from that moment onward.
It became my second love , right after my family.
From the very beginning, children's portraiture was my favourite genre of photography. I was able to naturally connect with kids, making them feel relaxed and focused during our sessions.
In 2015, I started submitting my work to photography competitions. Since then, I have won many highly coveted International Awards and professional photography titles that make me very proud, honoured and humbled.
My work was also published in various magazines in the UK and abroad.
For the last ten years, I have been on a thrilling journey.
I perfected my lighting skills and developed my unique, painterly editing style, that are now recognised around the world. I pushed myself very hard to be the best I could be.
As a result, I have also successfully grown my photography training business.
People describe my photography style as captivating, striking, dramatic, graceful, and timeless.
When my models look into the camera, I feel that by taking the image, I can capture their soul.
From the very beginning, I was drawn to painterly pictures, moody scenery and deep, rich tones.
My parents used to run an antique restoration shop in Poland, so for most of my childhood I was surrounded by baroque furniture and Victorian style paintings.
I believe, it was so deeply rooted in me that, without even realising it, elements of that styles started to appear in my photography.
One night, during my second year as a photographer, I had a dream that would change everything. I dreamt of hundreds of ravens soaring above me, their wings casting shadows in the moonlight. The dream was so vivid and intense that I woke up remembering every detail and emotion.
Intrigued by the symbolism of my dream, I discovered that ravens represent a connection between spirituality and reality.
My primary goal became capturing pure, intense, soulful emotions that would connect my subjects with their viewers.
Inspired by my dream, I created Fine Art Portrait titled "Raven – The Messenger." This piece not only marked a significant turning point in my career but also earned me the title of Best International Fine Art Photographer of the Year 2017 by Rangefinder, as well as Overall Photographer of the Year 2018 in the International Print Competition by SWPP.
